Bike Riders' trips are designed as a vacation, not as a race. Our pace, at every level, is relaxed. Nevertheless, you will be biking or walking almost every day and pre-trip training is always recommended. Our training suggestions are included in your pre-trip packet.

Level - How far am I biking?

1 - The average day is between 30 to 40 miles, with additional routes available.
2 - Consistently longer distances with average daily distances above 40 miles. Trips in the Level 2 range are for moderate and experienced cyclists.

Terrain - Is it mostly flat? Are there a lot of hills?

A - Mostly flat terrain. With basic pre-trip training "A" rated trips are suitable for any experience level.
B - Gently rolling varied terrain with some hills. Longer options available. Level B is for athletic beginners and more moderate cyclists.
C - Varied terrain. Expect hills and climbs. Level C is for moderate cyclists, but athletic beginners looking for a challenge and who want the reward of some spectacular scenery should also join us.

Trip Levels - Walking/Hiking Adventures:
Our walking trails cover distances between 4 to 12 miles per day on the following types of terrain.

Level 1 A Flat terrain. Relaxed walks with minor up or downhill.
Level 1 B Gently rolling terrain. Some hills. Some up and downhill walks on paved and unpaved trails.
Level 1 C Gently rolling to rolling terrain. Some climbs. Longer up and downhill trails.

Some tours are appropriate for two levels. For the best insight into a trip, call one of our trip advisors. They will be happy to help you select just the right tour.
