Day 1 & 2 Cape Town, Cape Point Nature Reserve & St. James
After we settle into our inn, an elite seaside retreat nestled between Kalk's Bay Mountains and False Bay, we meet for our warm up ride along Boyes Drive, offering beautiful views of False Bay. Later, a welcome aperitif, perhaps a Sauvignon Blanc, precedes our dinner: a supremely South African braai, traditional barbecue featuring such exotic fare as Kudu steaks, Springbok and grilled vegetables before watching the sunset over the Bay.
Next we ride to Cape Point Nature Reserve, a spectacular park and home to many endangered animals and plant species, including whales, tortoise and dolphin. Don't be suprised if you encounter baboons, ostriches and bontebok antelopes. After our visit we enjoy an opulent picnic lunch before heading to Cape point, the most southwesterly point of Africa.
• Two nights at the Rodwell House, a 5 star luxury property on False Bay.
|
Day 3 &4 Franschhoek Valley
A morning transfer to Franschhoek, a charming country town with deep roots in French culture and our home for the next two nights. Today's exquisite ride through vineyards featuring Pinotage, Semillion, Chenin Blanc and Shiraz works up our appetite for tonight's total gastronomic experience featuring cutting edge cuisine at our inn's award-winning restaurant, rated the best in South Africa.
• Two nights at the Le Quartier Francais, a Relais & Chateaux property.
|
Day 5 & 6 Stellenbosch & Jonkershoek Reserve
A morning ride to Franschhoek offers glorious views of the vineyards before making our way to Stellenbosch, a university town established in 1685, rich with history. Opt for a ride to Jonkershoek Nature Reserve...all while taking in views of the Jonkershoek and Stellenbosch mountain range.
• Two nights at the Summerwood Guest House, a 5 star property in historic Stellenbosch
|
Day 7, 8 & 9 Shamwari Game Reserve
